Dead or Alive Paradise (デッド・オア・アライブ・パラダイス, Deddo oa Araibu Paradaisu), commonly abreviates as DOAP and sometimes simply referred to as Paradise, is a port of Xbox 360 game Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 for the playstation portable, with some gameplay changes and the addiction of a guest character: the casino dealer Rio.

Unlike previous installments in the series, it was developed by a team named Project Venus, as opposing to all previous games in the series, which were developed by Team Ninja. This is also the first game in the series not directed by the Dead or Alive series creator Tomonobu Itagaki, who left Tecmo in 2008 after the release of Ninja Gaiden II.

Paradise is the first game of the series released on a portable console.

[edit] Story

Due to being a port, Dead or Alive Paradise uses the same story as Xesetreme 2. The game is set after the events of Dead or Alive 4, where the DJ and Muai Thay fighter Zack rebuilds a tropical island, naming it New Zack Island, and then invite the female fighters from the series to spend a vacation there.

[edit] Gameplay

Like the previous Dead or Alive Xtreme games, Paradise consists on a mix of beach minigames withsome dating sim elements. The player chooses one of the 10 playable female characters to spend a 14 day vacation on New zack Island. There, it is possible to play games like beach volleyball, pool hopping and beach flags.

As the player wins minigames, Zack Dollars (the game's currency) are earned, allowing the purchase of items such as swimsuits, acessories (hats, shoes, glasses...) and other items.

To play volleyball, the player must first partner with another girl. It is possible to gift another girl items to make her like the player more, and eventually partner with. The gift system also allows a girl to gift swimsuits to another, giving the later access to swimsuits that otherwise wouldn't be obtainable, since each character has its own set of swimsuits avaliable for sale at the shop.
